Albert 22nd January 2019

Dear Lynn, I still remember the first time I saw you at college, it was 1966, and when a friendship developed the discussions we used to have – sometimes a bit too deep for me! We had some fun though. Do you remember your 21st? A room in a local pub – White Hart? – with a battered old record player and you managed 13 barley wines!! We had our ups and downs, but the downs seem to have faded now and the ups are far more prominent – college, 34D Stopford Road, Selena and Miranda growing up and the things they managed to get up to, the holidays, sailing, entertaining, making a ‘right ricket’ with Strone Road, but turning it into a lovely home! You were so talented and mastered many skills – cooking, sewing, tailoring (remember the trousers you made me? I was so proud that you made them and told everyone. I wore them until they were threadbare!!), mothering (you were so worried you wouldn’t make a good mother, but another skill mastered!!) and housekeeping! You were always a perfectionist, single minded, strong willed and determined to succeed – and you did! So sorry you have had to leave us so early. Good bye girl. Albert x
